EMS STAT! is an Internet enabled hospital and ambulance
status management application. It allows hospital, ambulance, and emergency
management personnel to access and update the availability status of those
services in real-time.
The EMS Status Web is displayed 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week at all hospitals, EMS providers and communication centers.
The automated updates of the EMS Status Web provides users
with immediate divert status changes.
The
primary objective of the Hospital And Ambulance Status Web project was to create
a specialty Internet application to monitor hospital and ambulances divert
status for EMS providers, squads, hospitals and dispatchers. The application
allows users to view the divert status of hospital departments and ambulance
crews and to update status for their organization. Administration of the user
database and organization resources is also web enabled and accessed through
both server and application level security. Server and database redundancy
maintain reliability. A redundant Domain Name Server configuration redirects
requests for the web application should the primary server fail to respond. This
results in a near 100% up time capability for the application.
