NetMeeting Remote Support Instructions
- Run
NetMeeting.
- The
default installation places the NetMeeting icon in the
Programs|Accessories|Communications group.
- If
NetMeeting was not installed with Windows. Download the latest version
from Microsoft at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/netmeeting/
or On the NetMeeting Help menu, select Microsoft On The Web then Check
For NetMeeting Upgrade.
- If
NetMeeting has never been run. Enter the information in the wizard that
automatically runs when NetMeeting is started the first time.
- Connect
to the internet.
- Get
current IP address.
- On
the NetMeeting Help menu, select “About Windows NetMeeting”. The IP
address will be listed at the bottom of the window. Write down the IP
address so you can be called by another NetMeeting user.
- Verify
you are using the correct version of NetMeeting. The version should be
3.01 or higher.
- If
you use a dial-up internet access, the IP address changes every time you
make a new connection.
- Receive
incoming call.
- Share
the program or desktop.
- Run
the program you want to share and return to the NetMeeting window.
- Click
the Share Programs button at the lower left of the NetMeeting window.
- In
the Share Program window, select the program or desktop from the list and
click Share button.
- In
the Control section, click Allow Control and check the choice to
Automatically accept requests for control.
- Close
the Share window.
- Stop
sharing when finished.
- Click
the Share Programs button to open the Sharing window. Click Unshare All
button and close window.
- Hang-up
the call and close NetMeeting.
