Design and development of a stream lined order entry system capable of coexisting with the current client order entry application.  This was  accomplished with the development of a “Bolt On” application written in Visual Basic 6, with interfaces to the Oracle 8.0 database of the Traditional order entry system where applicable. Development consisted of a  phased implementation approach following the waterfall lifecycle model.  Project design tools included Microsoft Access 2000, utilized for the prototype user interface and data mapping, Microsoft Visio 2000 for screen design & approval processes and Oracle table and relationship mapping & documentation, Microsoft Project 2000 for project estimating and management.  A project management web site was also utilized to enhance the project visibility with upper management.
